Chief Caggiano and the Montville Police Explorers are undertaking a fund raiser in an effort to make Montville the safest community in NJ. Chief Caggiano would like to supply the police department with the most sophisticated camera equipment in order to gather information instantaneously and therefore protect out community.
THE MONTVILLE POLICE EXPLORERS NEED YOUR HELP. A pilot program would first be initiated at an undisclosed location in town to assess the feasibility and logistics of this program with the intent to form a ring of protection around the community in an effort to protect our school children, citizens and businesses.
A safe community is a benefit for every one.
The Automatic License Plate Recognition Camera, or ALPR, is an up-and-coming technology pioneering new advances in community safety that have never been seen before. Other police departments using it have reported over 20% drops in overall crime, with decreases of almost 40% in burglaries alone.
